About Iridium spark plugs provides information about NGK Iridium IX and Denso Iridium Power such as benefits, theory and comparisons between manufacturers parts.
NGK Iridium X-reference lists common NGK plug part numbers and their close equivalent constructed using Iridium tipped centre electrodes.
Manufacturers X-ref cross references common Bosch, Champion and Denso applications to their NGK equivalents.
The NGK code provides a 'breakdown' key to spark plug features as described by the NGK part code. Use this code to learn more about NGK's plugs specifications for your part number.
The Champion code provides a key to Champion spark plug features as described by the Champion part code.
The Denso code provides a key to Denso spark plug features as described by the Denso part code
NGK Plug types images and brief details of various types of plug from NGK such as Iridium IX, Platinum EVX, GV, G etc.
Denso Plug types images and brief descriptios of various parts from Denso including Iridium power and ZU platinum plugs.
Analysis contains images and cause explainations of common faults associated with incorrect firing conditions. This is a good place to begin troubleshooting ignition related problems.
Gap settings. This is a table of equivalent metric and imperial plug gap settings - useful if you have imperial feeler gauges and a metric setting (and vice versa). Many parts by NGK and Denso are suffixed by a number (e.g. -11, -13 etc.) these numbers actually specify the factory preset gap setting as 1.1mm, 1.3mm etc.

Torque settings This is a table of general values for recommended tightening torques for various cylinder head (i.e. aluminium, cast iron), plugs seat type (i.e. tapered or flat with gasket) and plug size/diameter (i.e. 8mm thru 18mm). It is important to use the correct torque setting when fitting to avoid damage to the cylinder head and spark plug.
NGK Supercessions is a table of old/obsolete NGK part numbers and their current equivalent.
Champion Supercessions is a table of old/obsolete Champion part numbers and their current equivalent.
